Shamim Hossain Patwari is a young and dynamic Bangladeshi cricketer born on September 2, 2000, in Chandpur, Bangladesh. A left-handed middle-order batsman and right-arm offbreak bowler, Shamim is known for his aggressive batting style and ability to accelerate the scoring, especially in the shorter formats. He came into prominence as part of Bangladesh's U19 team and made his international debut in T20 Internationals in July 2021 against Zimbabwe, where he showcased his potential by scoring quick runs and helping Bangladesh secure series victories. Shamim was also part of Bangladesh's squad for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.

In 2023, Shamim made his ODI debut in the Asia Cup against Afghanistan, where he made a memorable impact by hitting a six off the very first ball he faced in international ODI cricket, becoming the first Bangladeshi batsman to do so. He has featured prominently in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchises such as Chattogram Challengers and Rangpur Riders, recognized for his quick cameos and electric fielding.
