Sharafuddin Ashraf

Sharafuddin Ashraf, born on January 10, 1995, in Kabul, Afghanistan, is a right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has served as a reliable all-rounder for the Afghanistan national cricket team since his international debut in July 2014. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe and his T20 International debut in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier against the Netherlands.

Throughout his career, Ashraf has been a consistent performer in Afghanistan’s domestic competitions and international matches. Notably, he was the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament, taking 12 wickets in 5 matches and earning the player of the tournament award for his all-round contributions. He was also part of Afghanistan’s squad in the 2018 Afghanistan Premier League and the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Ashraf has been a key player in Afghanistan’s recent successes, including contributing to the team’s silver medal win at the 2022 Asian Games. By 2024, he had played 20 ODIs, taking 13 wickets with a best of 3/29, and 19 T20Is, claiming 8 wickets. Known for his bowling accuracy and ability to take crucial wickets, Sharafuddin Ashraf remains an important member of Afghanistan’s cricket setup, respected for his all-round skills and experience in both domestic and international formats.
