Shoriful Islam

Mohammad Shoriful Islam, a talented Bangladeshi cricketer born on 3 June 2001, made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in March 2021. His journey began with his inclusion in a preliminary ODI squad for the series against the West Indies in January 2021, followed by his selection in the final squad and subsequent ODI debut against Sri Lanka in May 2021.

Islam's versatility was showcased when he was named in Bangladesh's T20I squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in September 2021 and the 2022 edition a year later. He continued to impress, earning a spot in the Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka in April 2021, making his Test debut on 29 April 2021.

Islam's consistent performances across formats led to his selection in Bangladesh's squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup in September 2023. On 23 December 2023, during the third ODI against New Zealand, he achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third fastest bowler for Bangladesh, in terms of matches (32), to take 50 wickets in ODIs.
