Taskin Ahmed

Taskin Ahmed, born on April 3, 1995, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a right-arm fast bowler and a left-handed batsman who represents the Bangladesh national cricket team. Standing at 6 ft 2 in (188 cm), Taskin is known for his exceptional bowling skills and powerful batting.

Taskin's cricketing journey began at the Abahani playground on January 10, 2007. After playing at the under-15 and under-17 levels, he was selected to represent the Bangladesh national under-19 cricket team. He made his first-class debut for Dhaka Metropolis in October 2011 against Barisal Division.

In the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Taskin was the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh, taking 11 wickets. His impressive performance in the 2014 domestic season earned him a spot in Bangladesh's squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, where he was the highest wicket-taker for the team.

Taskin made his international debut for Bangladesh in April 2014, playing his first T20I against Australia. He made his ODI debut against India on June 17, 2014, becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to take five wickets in an ODI debut. Taskin's Test debut came against New Zealand on January 12, 2017.

Throughout his career, Taskin has represented various domestic teams, including Chittagong Kings, Chittagong Vikings, Kandahar Knights, Sylhet Sixers, Rangpur Rangers, Fortune Barishal, and Dhaka Dominators. He has been a key player for Bangladesh, contributing significantly with his pace and accuracy.

Despite facing some challenges, such as a suspension from international cricket due to an illegal bowling action during the 2016 ICC World T20, Taskin has bounced back stronger. He is currently the fastest bowler in the history of Bangladesh cricket, clocking speeds of over 150 km/h during the 2021 T20 World Cup.
