Matt Renshaw

Matt Renshaw, born on March 28, 1996, in Middlesbrough, England, is a left-handed opening batsman for Australia who has shown promise and resilience throughout his international career. After moving to Australia at age ten, Renshaw quickly rose through domestic ranks, making a strong Sheffield Shield debut and becoming Queensland's leading run scorer in the 2015-16 season. He made his Test debut in November 2016 against South Africa and scored his maiden Test century (184) against Pakistan in Sydney, becoming the first Australian to reach 500 Test runs before turning 21. Despite early success, his form dipped during tours to India and Bangladesh, leading to his replacement by Cameron Bancroft. However, Renshaw has displayed strong perseverance, returning to the Test side in 2018 and again in 2023, adapting to a middle-order role and continuing to contribute for Queensland and in the Big Bash League for Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers.​
