Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma is an Indian cricketer who plays for Punjab in domestic cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sharma made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and his first-class debut in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy. In December 2017, he was named in India's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In 2018, Sharma was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the IPL auction. He made his T20 debut for the franchise that year, scoring 46 runs off just 19 balls. In February 2021, Sharma scored the fastest hundred by an Indian in List A cricket, reaching the milestone in just 42 balls while playing for Punjab against Madhya Pradesh. In 2022, Sharma was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL auction. He played 14 matches for the franchise that season, scoring 426 runs. In the 2024 IPL season, Sharma had a very productive campaign. He scored 484 runs in 16 matches at an impressive strike rate of around 200, including the fastest fifty of the tournament against Mumbai Indians. He was the second-highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad after Travis Head.
