Rassie van der Dussen

Hendrik Erasmus 'Rassie' van der Dussen, born on February 7, 1989, is a South African professional cricketer who plays internationally for the South Africa national cricket team and domestically for Gauteng. Recognized for his consistent batting, van der Dussen was named one of the five Cricketers of the Year in the 2018 South African Cricket Annual and was awarded the International Men's Newcomer of the Year by Cricket South Africa in 2019. He made his T20 International debut in October 2018 against Zimbabwe and his One Day International (ODI) debut in January 2019 against Pakistan, impressively scoring 93 on debut and finishing the series with an average of 120.5. He was part of South Africa’s 2019 Cricket World Cup squad and made his Test debut in December 2019 against England.

Van der Dussen achieved his first ODI century in April 2021, scoring an unbeaten 123 against Pakistan, becoming the oldest South African to score their maiden ODI century. He also featured prominently in the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, scoring a top T20I score of 94* against England. In the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup held in India, he scored a century against Sri Lanka. As of February 2025, he is included in South Africa’s squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, cementing his role as a key player in South African cricket across all formats.
