Sean Anthony Abbott, born on February 29, 1992, is an Australian right-handed batting all-rounder who bowls medium pace and represents Australia in ODI and T20I cricket. He has been a key member of the Australian squad that won the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Abbott began his professional career with New South Wales, making his List A debut in 2010 and first-class debut in 2011, and has been a prominent player in the Big Bash League, representing Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers. He earned recognition as the Player of the Tournament in BBL|06 after taking 20 wickets and has also played county cricket in England for Surrey.

Abbott made his international debut in T20Is and ODIs in 2014 against Pakistan and won the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year award in 2015. After a hiatus, he returned to the Australian team in 2019 and has since been a regular in limited-overs squads. Known for his all-round capabilities, Abbott scored his maiden international half-century in an ODI during the 2023 World Cup and has contributed with important wickets and runs. His resilience and consistent performances have established him as a valuable player for Australia in white-ball cricket.
