Max O'Dowd

Maxwell Patrick O'Dowd, born on March 4, 1994, in Auckland, New Zealand, is a New Zealand-born Dutch international cricketer who made his debut for the Netherlands national cricket team in June 2015. He is a right-handed opening batsman and has represented the Netherlands in three editions of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

O'Dowd's personal life is marked by his connection to cricket through his father, Alex O'Dowd, who played first-class cricket in New Zealand and later played and coached club cricket in the Netherlands. He holds a Dutch passport through his mother and lived in the Netherlands until the age of twelve before returning to Auckland and attending Westlake Boys High School.

O'Dowd's domestic and franchise career includes playing for the Netherlands national under-19 cricket team in the European Challenge Series and for Auckland under-19s in the National Under-19 Tournament. He also played club cricket in England and appeared in a single match in the Second Eleven Championship for Nottinghamshire. In the Netherlands, he played for the Northern Hurricanes franchise in the North Sea Pro Series and for the Rotterdam Rhinos in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament, although the tournament was later cancelled.

Internationally, O'Dowd made his senior debut for the Netherlands in an Intercontinental Cup match against Papua New Guinea in June 2015. He has since played in several international matches, including his Twenty20 International debut against Nepal in July 2015 and his List A debut in the WCL Championship against Scotland in September 2015. O'Dowd has been a key player for the Netherlands, contributing significantly to their victories and milestones in international cricket. In 2021, he became the first batsman for the Netherlands to score a century in a T20I match, and in 2022, he was the top scorer during the West Indies tour of the Netherlands.
