Nathan McAndrew is a tall, right-arm medium-fast bowler and handy lower-order batsman, a genuine all-rounder who has represented multiple domestic sides in Australia and overseas. He was first called up to the Sydney Thunder squad in BBL|05, the season they won their maiden title. McAndrew is celebrated for his commitment to his craft, having moved from New South Wales to South Australia to seek more opportunities in multi-day cricket, where he excelled by taking numerous wickets and scoring valuable first-class runs.

Known for his consistency in the T20 format, McAndrew is a reliable death bowler who can hit a hard length and execute slower balls effectively, demonstrated by his impressive Big Bash career statistics. His all-round prowess is significant, featuring a maiden first-class half-century against Western Australia, which helped cement his role as a genuine bowling all-rounder. Having re-signed with the Thunder, he brings his extensive BBL experience and white-ball death-overs expertise back to the team.
