Luke Wood is a high-quality left-arm fast-medium bowler from England, signed as an overseas replacement to add variety and a left-arm angle to the Strikers' pace battery. Wood is particularly effective in the powerplay, where his swing bowling poses an immediate threat, and also possesses excellent death bowling skills, including a potent slower ball and yorker.

His ability to generate pace and late movement makes him a challenging prospect for opposition batsmen. Wood also offers useful contributions with the bat lower down the order, making him a proper T20 specialist. His experience in the English county game and various franchise leagues makes him a valuable addition to the Adelaide Strikers for the BBL|15 season.
