Oliver Davies

Ollie Davies is a dynamic, naturally aggressive right-handed batsman who has quickly become one of the Big Bash League's most exciting young talents for the Sydney Thunder. The boy from Sydney's Northern Beaches first grabbed national attention during the 2020 Under-19 World Cup and subsequently burst onto the BBL scene in BBL|10, instantly impressing with his power-hitting. His breakout season came in BBL|12, where he compiled 333 runs, the most by any Thunder player that tournament, showcasing his ability to accelerate quickly in the middle order.

Davies has recently translated his success to the longer formats, achieving a breakout red-ball season in 2023-24 by dominating the Marsh Sheffield Shield with 670 runs in just seven matches, earning him a place in the Cricket Australia Team of the Tournament. Known for his ability to attack spin bowling and his strong middle-order presence, he is a crucial part of the Thunder's batting line-up. Additionally, Ollie comes from a strong cricketing family, with his younger brother, Joel Davies, also signing with the Sydney Thunder.
