Ben Duckett

Ben Matthew Duckett, born on 17 October 1994, is an English cricketer who represents Nottinghamshire. A left-handed batsman with wicket-keeping abilities, Duckett made his international debut for England in October 2016.

Duckett faced a setback when he was deselected from the England senior team for a match against a Cricket Australia XI during the 2017-18 Ashes tour due to an incident in a Perth bar. Allegedly pouring a drink over teammate James Anderson, Duckett was suspended from playing in the final three England Lions games of the tour and fined. Subsequently, he was dropped from the 2018 England Lions tour of the West Indies due to the incident.

In April 2019, Duckett was included in England's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for a one-off match against Pakistan, marking his T20I debut on 5 May 2019. Despite the challenges, Duckett's talent and potential were recognized when he was named in a 55-man group of players for training ahead of international fixtures in England post the COVID-19 pandemic. He was later selected in England's 24-man squad for training for the ODI series against Ireland in July 2020.

Duckett's return to the England side during a tour of Pakistan in late 2022 showcased his adaptability and skill, aligning with the Bazball style of cricket embraced by the team under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. His partnership with Zak Crawley resulted in record-breaking achievements, including the fastest-ever England century opening stand and the fastest double-century partnership in Test cricket history. Duckett's impactful performances secured his place in the team for the remainder of the series, highlighting his resilience and ability to deliver under pressure.
