KL Rahul

Kannanur Lokesh Rahul, commonly known as KL Rahul, is an esteemed Indian cricketer celebrated for his prowess as a right-handed wicket-keeper and batsman. Born on 18 April 1992, in Bangalore, Karnataka, Rahul has emerged as a stalwart in Indian cricket, showcasing his exceptional skills both domestically and on the international stage.

Rahul's cricketing journey commenced at a young age, honing his talents under the guidance of his father, K. N. Lokesh, and mother, Rajeshwari. Growing up in Mangalore, Rahul exhibited a natural flair for the sport, attending NITK English Medium School and later pursuing his pre-university education at St. Aloysius College. At the age of 18, he relocated to Bangalore to further his education at Jain University while simultaneously pursuing his cricketing aspirations.

Having made his first-class debut for Karnataka during the 2010–11 season, Rahul swiftly rose through the ranks, representing his country at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2010. His remarkable performances in domestic cricket caught the attention of selectors, earning him a coveted spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.

Rahul's IPL journey has been illustrious, marked by stints with various franchises including Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and his current team, Lucknow Super Giants. Notably, he made history in the IPL by scoring the fastest 50 in league history and captained Punjab Kings to several memorable victories, earning accolades such as the Orange Cap for the highest run-scorer in IPL 2020.

In addition to his stellar IPL career, Rahul has left an indelible mark on the international cricketing arena. Making his debut against Australia in 2014, he swiftly established himself as a formidable force, becoming the first Indian cricketer to score an ODI century on debut. Renowned for his agility behind the stumps and his ability to anchor innings with the bat, Rahul's versatility has made him a vital asset to the Indian cricket team across all formats.
