Codi Yusuf is a promising South African bowling all-rounder who has quickly risen through the domestic ranks with his right-arm medium-fast bowling and handy lower-order batting. Born in Knysna in 1998, he made his T20 debut for Mpumalanga in the 2018 Africa T20 Cup before representing Gauteng in both List A and first-class formats the following year. His ability to swing the ball and maintain consistency made him one of the standout performers in the 2019–20 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, where he finished as a joint-leading wicket-taker.

In franchise cricket, Yusuf has represented teams like the Lions and Paarl Royals in the SA20, while also proving his skills in red-ball competitions where he consistently delivered breakthroughs. His breakthrough year came in 2024–25 when he captured 23 wickets in the red-ball season at an impressive average, cementing himself as one of the top emerging seamers in South Africa. His performances earned him a call-up to play county cricket in England with Durham, where he adapted quickly to English conditions and made an immediate impact with wickets and valuable runs down the order.

The rewards of his domestic and overseas form came in 2025 when he was handed his Test debut against Zimbabwe, where he impressed with 10 wickets in just two matches at an average of 12.2. Later that year, he made his ODI debut against England, marking the start of what looks to be a long international career. With his ability to contribute in multiple formats, Yusuf adds balance and depth to the South African setup, and his growth suggests he could become a key figure in both red-ball and white-ball cricket in the years to come.
