Lungi Ngidi

Lungisani True-man Ngidi, born 29 March 1996, is a South African professional cricketer who plays as a right-arm fast-medium bowler for the South African national cricket team. He was recognized as one of the five Cricketers of the Year in the 2018 South African Cricket Annual Awards and named both ODI and T20I cricketer of the year at Cricket South Africa's 2020 awards.Ngidi made his T20 International debut against Sri Lanka in January 2017 and was awarded man of the match. His Test debut came in January 2018 against India, where he took a six-wicket haul in the second innings, playing a key role in South Africa’s win. He made his ODI debut shortly thereafter. Ngidi was part of South Africa's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

He achieved his first ODI five-wicket haul in March 2020 against Australia and became the fastest South African bowler to reach 50 ODI wickets in just 26 matches. In July 2022, he took his first T20I five-wicket haul against England. Ngidi was a member of the South African team that won the 2025 ICC World Test Championship final.Ngidi has played in various T20 franchise leagues including the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. He was named as a reserve player in South Africa's squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament.
