Lizaad Williams

Lizaad Buyron Williams is a South African cricketer born on October 1, 1993, in Vredenburg, Western Cape Province, South Africa. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a left-handed batsman. Williams began his cricket career playing for Boland in the 2012-13 season and has since represented several domestic teams including Cape Cobras, Western Province, Lions, Titans, Northerns, and more recently, Northamptonshire and Joburg Super Kings. Known for his raw pace and accuracy, he has been a consistent performer in South African domestic cricket.

Williams made his international debut for South Africa in April 2021 in a T20 International against Pakistan. He gained attention by taking a wicket with his very first delivery in One Day International (ODI) cricket, against Ireland in July 2021. Williams has also been named as a reserve player for South Africa's 2021 ICC T20 World Cup squad and made his Test debut in March 2022 against Bangladesh. He was part of South Africa's squad for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. In franchise cricket, he was signed by Delhi Capitals for the 2024 Indian Premier League and later by Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2025 season, recognized for adding both pace and skill to these squads. Williams is praised for his ability to bowl in the powerplay and death overs with discipline and has been steadily establishing himself as a promising fast bowler for South Africa's future.
