Brydon Carse

Brydon Alexander Carse, born on July 31, 1995, in Cape Town, South Africa, is an English cricketer who plays as a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman for Durham and the England national team. Son of Zimbabwean cricketer James Carse, Brydon qualified to play for England through his British ancestry and completed his residency qualification in 2019. Known for his genuine pace, regularly bowling around 90 mph (145 kph), Carse made his international debut in July 2021 in an ODI against Pakistan. He quickly made an impact by taking a maiden five-wicket haul in only his third ODI, establishing himself as a promising fast bowler for England.

Carse has also contributed with the bat, scoring his maiden first-class century for Durham and proving himself a useful lower-order batsman. Despite injury setbacks, he has been a key player for Durham in domestic cricket and featured in franchise teams like Northern Superchargers. He made his T20I debut in August 2023 and Test debut in October 2024. Carse’s aggressive bowling style, combined with his improving batting, has made him a valuable bowling all-rounder for England, known for his resilience and ability to generate pace consistently.
