Afy Fletcher

Afy Samantha Sharlyn Fletcher, born on 17 March 1987 in Grenada, is a right-arm leg-spin bowler who represents the West Indies internationally and plays domestic cricket for Windward Islands and Barbados Royals. She made her international debut in 2008 at age 21, taking 4/22 in her first ODI, setting a West Indies record for best bowling figures on debut. After a hiatus from international cricket following the 2009 World Cup, Fletcher returned in 2015 and was a key member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, finishing among the top wicket-takers.

Fletcher has been a consistent presence in the West Indies squad, earning central contracts and featuring in major tournaments including the 2018 and 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cups and the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Known for her economical bowling and wicket-taking ability, she achieved a hat-trick in a 2021 WT20I series against Pakistan. Fletcher continues to be an integral part of the West Indies bowling attack and was named in the squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
