
Linsey Smith
Linsey Claire Neale Smith, born on 10 March 1995, is an English slow left-arm orthodox bowler who currently plays for Sussex, Southern Vipers, Northern Superchargers, and Sydney Sixers. She began her domestic career with Berkshire before moving to Sussex in 2017. Smith made her international debut in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament, taking her maiden wicket against Bangladesh. She was awarded an England rookie contract in 2019 and performed well on tours to India and Sri Lanka, taking multiple wickets in T20 internationals. Although she did not play during the 2020 season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, she remained in contention for England selection.
Smith has continued to be a key player domestically and internationally, known for her accuracy and economical bowling. She was named in England’s squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where she contributed with both wickets and fielding in the opening match against Bangladesh. She is also included in England’s squads for the upcoming T20I tours to South Africa in late 2024 and the 2025 Women’s Ashes series in Australia, underscoring her ongoing role in England’s limited-overs plans.
