Abdollah Ahmadzai
Abdollah Ahmadzai, born 26 June 2003 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler. He is considered an all-rounder, though his international exposure is still in early days. In September 2025, he made his T20I debut for Afghanistan against UAE and was recently brought into the Asia Cup squad as an injury replacement for Naveen-ul-Haq.
In domestic and first-class cricket, Ahmadzai has featured for teams such as Speenghar Tigers, Pamir Legends, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Maiwand Champions, Hindukush Strikers and Amo Sharks. His List A and first-class stats show moderate returns: his T20 record in particular highlights his potential, with 15 wickets in 11 matches and a best of 4/7, giving a glimpse of his ability to impact games in the shorter format.
Strengths for Ahmadzai include his ability to generate useful seam and pace from a medium-fast style, discipline in bowling tight spells, and the capability to chip in with handy lower-order runs. Areas for growth are consistency at international level, improving his batting contributions under pressure, and developing variations to challenge batsmen in the middle and death overs. If he builds on his early chances, he could emerge as a valuable back-up pace option for Afghanistan.
