Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman, born on April 10, 1990, in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, is a celebrated Pakistani international cricketer known for his left-handed aggressive batting and slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He rose to international prominence during the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, where he scored a match-winning century (114 runs off 106 balls) in the final against India, earning him the Player of the Match award and playing a pivotal role in Pakistan’s tournament triumph.

Fakhar made his ODI debut against South Africa in June 2017 and quickly established himself as a key opener for Pakistan, becoming the fastest player to reach 1,000 ODI runs in just 18 innings. In July 2018, he became the first Pakistani to score a double century in ODIs, hitting an unbeaten 210 against Zimbabwe, contributing to a record 304-run opening partnership alongside Imam-ul-Haq. He also holds the record for the highest individual score while chasing in an ODI (193 against South Africa). Fakhar made his Test debut against Australia in October 2018, scoring 94 and 66 in his first match. He is known for his aggressive stroke play, ability to score quickly, and his influential performances in high-pressure matches including the 2023 Cricket World Cup, where he scored a blazing 126 against New Zealand with 11 sixes. Fakhar remains a vital component of Pakistan’s limited-overs batting lineup with multiple accolades and records to his name.
