Hasan Mahmud

Hasan Mahmud is a rising fast bowler from Bangladesh known for his raw pace and ability to generate bounce on a variety of surfaces. Born on October 12, 1999, in Lakshmipur, he came through the ranks of domestic cricket and the Bangladesh U19 setup, where he impressed with his performances in the 2018 U19 World Cup. A right-arm fast bowler who regularly clocks speeds above 140 km/h, Hasan made his T20I debut in March 2020 against Zimbabwe and soon after earned his ODI cap in January 2021 versus the West Indies.

In the domestic circuit, Hasan has been a consistent performer in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and other T20 competitions, representing teams like Dhaka Platoon, Gemcon Khulna, and Rangpur Riders. His breakthrough came in the 2020 Bangabandhu T20 Cup, where he played a key role in Gemcon Khulna's title-winning campaign. In international cricket, Hasan has made a strong impression with his best ODI figures of 5/32 against Ireland and a maiden Test five-for against Pakistan in 2024. He continued to build on this momentum with a historic 5/83 in Chennai, becoming the first Bangladeshi to take a Test five-wicket haul on Indian soil.

Hasan Mahmud's rise signals a new era for Bangladesh’s pace attack, offering much-needed variety and speed alongside the nation's traditionally spin-heavy bowling lineups.
