Maheesh Theekshana

Maheesh Theekshana is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the Sri Lanka national cricket team in all three formats of the game. Born on August 1, 2000, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Theekshana made his international debut for Sri Lanka in September 2021. He is regarded as one of the best T20 bowlers in the world, known for his unique bowling action that resembles that of former Sri Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis, who was his mentor at the Sri Lanka Army Sports Club.

Theekshana currently plays for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and has also represented the Jaffna Kings and Sharjah Warriors in domestic and T20 franchise cricket. He has won several accolades, including the All Island Best All Rounder Award during his final year at St. Benedict's College. Theekshana's impressive performances have earned him recognition globally, and he is considered a key player in Sri Lanka's cricket team.

Theekshana's cricketing journey began at St. Benedict's College, where he was granted a scholarship after impressing the Cricket Wing with his skills. He later joined the Sri Lanka Army, serving as a Private in the Gajaba Regiment and playing for the Sri Lanka Army cricket team. Theekshana's military career was marked by his promotion to the rank of Sergeant following the Asia Cup Championship in 2022.
