Muhammad Waseem

Muhammad Waseem, born on February 12, 1994, in Mian Channu, Punjab, Pakistan, is a right-handed top-order batsman and right-arm off-break bowler who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. Known for his aggressive batting and ability to score quickly, Waseem made his T20 International debut in October 2021 against Namibia and his ODI debut in February 2022 against Oman. He has since become the backbone of the UAE's batting lineup, recognized for his consistency and power-hitting. Waseem is the first UAE player to score multiple centuries in T20Is, holding a high strike rate over 155 and an average close to 38 in the format. He has represented franchises such as MI Emirates in the International League T20, earning Player of the Match awards for standout batting performances.

Waseem was appointed captain of the UAE team in 2023 and has led the side to several significant victories, including a historic T20I series win against New Zealand. He was named ICC Men's Player of the Month in April 2024 and was Player of the Series in the 2023 T20I series against Bangladesh after scoring 145 runs in three matches. His record-breaking innings include the fastest T10 fifty, made in just 12 balls, and the fastest UAE ODI century at 61 balls. At 5 feet 10 inches tall, Muhammad Waseem combines elegant stroke play with powerful hitting, making him one of the leading cricketers of the UAE with growing international acclaim.
