Sediqullah Atal

Sediqullah Atal, born on August 12, 2001, is a talented left-handed opening batsman from Afghanistan. He made his international debut for Afghanistan in March 2023 and has quickly established himself as a key player for the national team. Known for his elegant stroke play and composed temperament at the crease, Atal began his professional career in domestic cricket with the Kabul Eagles during the 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League.

He was part of Afghanistan's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and made his List A debut in 2021 for the Band-e-Amir Region. In October 2024, Atal was named the Player of the Tournament in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup by scoring an impressive 368 runs in 5 matches at an average of 122.66 and a strike rate of 145, leading Afghanistan A to their maiden title. He also participated in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as a reserve player and was selected for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad. Atal currently plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and made his IPL debut in May 2025. His cricket journey is marked by outstanding domestic and international performances, showcasing his potential as a reliable opener with the ability to anchor innings and accelerate when needed.
