Towhid Hridoy

Towhid Hridoy, a talented Bangladeshi cricketer born on 4 December 2000, made his first-class debut for Rajshahi Division in the 2017–18 National Cricket League on 13 October 2017. He was then named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2017 and made his List A debut for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on 5 February 2018.

In October 2018, Hridoy was selected for the Sylhet Sixers team in the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League draft and made his Twenty20 debut for the team on 6 January 2019. He was later named as the vice-captain of Bangladesh's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2019 and was chosen for the Bangladesh Emerging squad for their home series against the Ireland Wolves in February 2021.

Hridoy's career took a significant turn in December 2021 when he scored his maiden double century in first-class cricket, scoring 217 runs during the 2021–22 Bangladesh Cricket League. His impressive performance continued in March 2023, when he scored 92 runs off 85 balls in his ODI debut against Ireland, the highest individual innings by a Bangladeshi batsman on ODI debut.

In February 2023, Hridoy was named in Bangladesh's ODI squad for their series against England and was later selected for the T20I squad for the same series. He made his T20I debut in the first match of the series on 9 March 2023 and his ODI debut against Ireland on 18 March 2023.

Furthermore, in the series against Afghanistan, Hridoy played a match-winning knock of 47 not out in the first T20I, helping Bangladesh secure a tense victory in the final over.

Tawhid Hridoy's consistent performances and impressive debut in both ODI and T20I formats have cemented his place in the Bangladesh national team. His ability to score runs under pressure and his versatility as a batsman make him a valuable asset to the team.
