Aasif Sheikh is a foundational figure in Nepal’s cricket history, serving as a reliable right-handed opening batter and a technically sound wicketkeeper. Since his debut in 2021, he has become the cornerstone of Nepal’s top order, renowned for a classical batting style that blends composure with the ability to anchor long innings. He holds the record for the most ODI half-centuries for Nepal, a testament to his consistency in a rapidly evolving team. Beyond his statistical contributions, Aasif gained global recognition by winning the 2022 ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, becoming the first Nepalese cricketer to receive the honor after his famous decision not to run out an Irish player who had collided with a bowler.
