Andries Gous

Andries Gous is a South African-American professional cricketer who currently represents the United States national cricket team. Born on November 24, 1993, in South Africa, Gous has had a successful domestic career in his home country before moving to the United States in 2021.

In his early career, Gous was included in the Free State cricket team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. He continued to play for Free State in subsequent years, scoring a century for the team in the semi-final of the 2017 Africa T20 Cup against Namibia. Gous was also named in Jo'burg Giants' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League in August 2017.

Gous' performances for Free State in the 2018 Africa T20 Cup were particularly impressive, as he was the joint-leading run-scorer for the team with 155 runs in four matches. He was also named in Free State's squad for the 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup.

In April 2021, Gous made the decision to move to the United States after signing a three-year deal to play cricket in the country. He was subsequently selected to take part in the Minor League Cricket tournament in the United States following the players' draft in June 2021.

Gous' move to the United States has paid off, as he was named in the USA squad for their series against Canada in March 2024. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for the USA on April 7, 2024, against Canada. Gous has made an impressive start to his international career, scoring two back-to-back half-centuries in his first two T20I matches.
