Gerhard Erasmus

Gerhard Erasmus is the esteemed captain and a premier all-rounder for Namibia, recognized globally as one of the most successful leaders in Associate cricket. A right-handed batter and right-arm off-spinner, he has been the heartbeat of the 'Richelieu Eagles' since taking over the captaincy in 2019. Under his leadership, Namibia achieved ODI status and famously reached the Super 12 stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup. His individual excellence was highlighted when he was named the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year in both 2022 and 2024. As of early 2026, he has amassed over 2,100 ODI runs at an average of 38 and more than 1,800 T20I runs, while his disciplined off-spin has netted him over 110 international wickets.
