Jan Balt is a rising young talent in the Namibian national setup, serving as a versatile left-handed middle-order batter and a disciplined right-arm off-break bowler. Born in November 2003, Balt has quickly ascended through the ranks of Namibian cricket, transitioning from a standout youth player in the 2020 U19 World Cup to a promising asset for the senior side. Since making his T20I debut in early 2024 at the African Games, he has become known for his calm temperament and his ability to provide crucial breakthroughs, making him a central part of Namibia's strategy for a more youthful, dynamic squad.

His early international career is marked by several significant contributions, including a career-best ODI score of 35* against Oman in February 2025 during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. In the T20I format, Balt has already demonstrated his calibre and potential with the ball, recording an impressive economy rate of 5.18 and best figures of 1/11 against the UAE. Domestically, he has been a consistent performer for regional teams like the Eavion Eagles and Fish River Eagles, where he recently smashed a breathtaking century (115*) that caught the eye of national selectors.As of early 2026, Balt has been named as a key member of Namibia’s final squad for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where he is expected to bolster the middle order and provide vital spin options on the global stage. His blend of technical batting and tactical bowling makes him one of the most exciting young all-rounders in Associate cricket.
