Jan Balt is a rising young talent in the Namibian national setup, serving as a versatile left-handed middle-order batter and a disciplined right-arm off-break bowler. Born in November 2003, Balt has quickly ascended through the ranks of Namibian cricket, transitioning from a standout youth player in the 2020 U19 World Cup to a promising asset for the senior side. Since making his T20I debut in early 2024 at the African Games, he has become known for his calm temperament and his ability to provide crucial breakthroughs, making him a central part of Namibia's strategy for a more youthful, dynamic squad.

His early international career is marked by several significant contributions, including a career-best ODI score of 35* against Oman in February 2025 during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.
