Matthew Cross

Matthew Henry Cross, born on October 15, 1992, is a talented Scottish cricketer known for his role as a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman playing for Scotland. He made his One Day International debut for Scotland against Canada on January 23, 2014.

Cross has had a notable cricketing journey, serving as the Scotland U19 vice-captain during the 2011 U19 World Cup. Alongside his cricketing pursuits, he is pursuing Engineering studies at Loughborough University. His early cricketing days began at Aberdeenshire CC at the age of nine, and he has showcased outstanding performances with Loughborough MCCU, Scotland U19s, Nottinghamshire 2nd XI, and Academy.

In 2013, Cross's career saw significant progress as he earned a place in the Scotland senior squad and was selected for the T20 squad for the 2013 World Cup Qualifiers in the UAE. His consistent performances led to further opportunities, including representing the Montreal Tigers franchise team in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament and the Glasgow Giants in the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament, although the latter was cancelled.

Cross continued to be a key player for Scotland, featuring in the squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament and being named in the provisional squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
