Matthew Kuhnemann

Matthew Paul Kuhnemann, born on September 20, 1996, in Brisbane, is an Australian slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has rapidly emerged as a key figure in Australia’s bowling attack, especially in Test cricket. He began his domestic career with Queensland, making his List A debut in 2017 and first-class debut in 2021. Kuhnemann made his international debut for Australia in June 2022 and earned a Test call-up during the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India, where he impressed with a maiden five-wicket haul (5/16) in the third Test at Indore, playing a crucial role in Australia’s victory.

In 2025, Kuhnemann was selected for Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka, overcoming a thumb injury to deliver strong performances, including a second five-wicket haul and finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the series with 16 wickets at an average of 17.18.
