Navneet Dhaliwal

Navneet Dhaliwal is an Indian-born Canadian cricketer who served as the captain of the Canada national cricket team. He has represented Canada in various international tournaments, including the ICC World Cricket League Division Two, ICC World Twenty20 Americas Qualifier, and the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier.

Dhaliwal made his List A debut for Canada in the 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament against the Netherlands on 17 January 2015. He has since been a consistent performer for the national team, often leading the run-scoring charts in tournaments.

Some of Dhaliwal's notable achievements include being the leading run-scorer for Canada in the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Americas Qualifier tournament with 83 runs in six matches. He also topped the run-scoring charts for Canada in the 2018–19 Regional Super50 tournament in the West Indies, scoring 271 runs in six matches.

In the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia, Dhaliwal amassed 219 runs in five matches to finish as Canada's leading run-scorer. He also topped the run-scoring charts for Canada in the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier tournament, scoring 190 runs in six matches.

One of Dhaliwal's most impressive performances came against Malaysia in the 2019 Malaysia Cricket World Cup Challenge League A tournament, where he scored a blistering 140 runs from 94 balls, helping Canada post a mammoth total of 408/7. He finished as Canada's leading run-scorer in the tournament with 250 runs in three matches.

Dhaliwal has also represented the Edmonton Royals franchise in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. Ahead of the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as the key player in Canada's squad.
