Ryan Rickelton

Ryan David Rickelton, born on July 11, 1996, is a South African international cricketer who plays as a left-handed wicket-keeper batter. He represents Gauteng and MI Cape Town domestically and made his international debut for South Africa on March 31, 2022. Rickelton was part of the South African team that won the 2025 ICC World Test Championship final, marking the second ICC title for his country. He has had a strong domestic career, debuting in first-class cricket for Gauteng and leading run-scorer honors in multiple domestic tournaments like the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge and Sunfoil 3-Day Cup. Rickelton has also played for various franchise teams, including the Nelson Mandela Bay Stars, Jozi Stars, and captaincy of the Imperial Lions in the CSA T20 Challenge. In 2022, he signed with Northamptonshire for the County Championship.

Internationally, Rickelton was first named in South Africa's T20I squad in early 2021 and later received call-ups to the ODI and Test squads. He made his Test debut against Bangladesh in March 2022 and his ODI debut against the West Indies in March 2023. He was included in South Africa's squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. A highlight of his international career came in January 2025, when he scored his maiden Test double century, making 259 runs in a home series against Pakistan at Newlands Cricket Ground, underscoring his rising prominence as a key player for South Africa.
