Saim Ayub

Saim Ayub, born on May 24, 2002, in Karachi, Pakistan, is a stylish left-handed top-order batsman known for his elegant stroke play and promising talent. He started his professional career in domestic cricket and made his T20 debut for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL). After initial struggles in the PSL, he made a strong comeback in the 2023 season playing for Peshawar Zalmi, delivering consistent and impactful performances, including quickfire half-centuries and match-winning knocks.

Ayub made his international debut for Pakistan in March 2023 during a T20I series against Afghanistan. He has since made significant strides, including his Test debut against Australia in January 2024 and his ODI debut in November 2024. In December 2024, during Pakistan's tour of South Africa, Saim scored his maiden T20I half-century and went on to score consecutive ODI centuries, breaking Brian Lara’s 31-year-old record as the youngest player to score a century against South Africa in ODIs while chasing. Known for his composure, scoring ability in pressure situations, and handy off-break bowling, Saim Ayub is rapidly emerging as a key player for Pakistan across all formats.
