Shai Hope

Shai Diego Hope is a quintessential anchor and the cornerstone of the West Indies’ batting lineup, particularly in the One-Day format. Born on November 10, 1993, in Barbados, Hope burst into the global consciousness during the 2017 Headingley Test, where he became the first player in 127 years of first-class cricket at the ground to score centuries in both innings of a match. Since then, he has evolved into one of the most consistent ODI batsmen of the modern era, equalling Sir Vivian Richards’ record as the fastest West Indian to reach 5,000 ODI runs.
