Arundhati Reddy

Arundhati Reddy, born on April 10, 1997, in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is a skilled right-arm medium-fast bowler and right-handed batter, playing for the Indian women's national cricket team. She began playing cricket at the age of 12 and was inspired and supported by her family, especially her mother who was a former volleyball player and motivated Arundhati to pursue cricket. She captained the Hyderabad Women's Under-19 team at the age of 15 and showed early promise with her bowling skills, transitioning from a childhood aspiration to be a wicketkeeper to focusing on bowling where she excelled.

Arundhati made her WT20 International debut for India against Sri Lanka on September 19, 2018, and was part of India's squad for major tournaments such as the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 and the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She is known for her ability to swing the ball both ways and bowl effective yorkers. Reddy has also played for the Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League (WPL) since its inception in 2023. She made a significant comeback to the national team with strong performances in the WPL 2024 season and was among the joint-highest wicket-takers for India at the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. With her fighting spirit and versatile bowling, Arundhati remains a crucial asset to Indian women's cricket.
