Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur, born on March 8, 1989, in Moga, Punjab, is the captain of the Indian women's cricket team across all formats and is renowned as one of the most impactful all-rounders in women's cricket. She made her international debut in 2009 and has been a batting mainstay for India with her aggressive right-handed style and useful off-break bowling. Harmanpreet gained global fame for her explosive 171* off 115 balls in the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup semi-final against Australia, which remains one of the highest individual scores by an Indian woman in World Cups.

She was the first Indian woman to score a century in a T20 International and has played over 150 ODIs and 180 T20Is for India, amassing over 7,500 international runs and taking more than 60 wickets. Harmanpreet has been a trailblazer off the field too, being the first Indian woman signed by an overseas T20 franchise, the Sydney Thunder, in the Women's Big Bash League. She led Mumbai Indians to victory in the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2023 and has won multiple Asia Cup titles (2012, 2016, 2022). Harmanpreet has also been honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award and named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2023. She captained India to a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games and a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, solidifying her status as a cricketing icon.
