Sophia Ivy Rose Dunkley is an English cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm leg break bowler for Surrey, Welsh Fire, Melbourne Stars, and the England national team. She made her county debut at just 14 for Middlesex in 2012 and her international debut in 2018 during the ICC Women's World Twenty20. In 2020, she moved from Middlesex to Surrey and was awarded her first central contract with England in 2021. That same year, Dunkley made history as the first Black woman to play Test cricket for England, debuting against India. Since then, she has become a regular feature in England’s squads across formats, including tours to India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia.

Dunkley has steadily progressed in her international career, scoring her first half-century and century in Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and contributing in key tournaments such as the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup and the Commonwealth Games. She continues to be an important player for England, named in squads for upcoming major events including the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, the 2024 tour to South Africa, and the 2025 Women's Ashes series in Australia. Her rise reflects her growing influence and versatility as a batter and occasional bowler on the international stage.
