Reeza Hendricks

Reeza Hendricks, born on August 26, 1988, in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a right-handed top-order batsman and occasional right-arm off-break bowler known for his elegant strokeplay and consistency across formats. He began his domestic career with Griqualand West in 2006, making his List A debut against Namibia, and later excelled with the Lions, scoring his maiden T20 century of 102 not out in the 2017–18 Ram Slam T20 Challenge to lead the run charts. Hendricks achieved a historic feat in January 2018 by scoring centuries in all three South African franchise competitions in one season, including a List A ton in the Momentum One Day Cup. In April 2022, his unbeaten 157 powered Lions to victory in the CSA One-Day Cup Division One final against Titans. His T20 prowess shone in leagues like Mzansi Super League with Jozi Stars and SA20, where he fetched a record 4.3 million Rand at the 2025 auction for MI Cape Town.​

Hendricks debuted in T20Is for South Africa against Australia in November 2014, opening alongside Quinton de Kock, though he started with a duck. His ODI debut came against Sri Lanka in August 2018 at Pallekele, where he smashed a rapid 88-ball century—the fastest on ODI debut by a South African—earning Player of the Match honors as the third Protea to achieve this. With impressive stats like 2483 T20I runs at a 129.80 strike rate and 974 ODI runs at 27.06 average, he remains a reliable opener in white-ball cricket. Hendricks has featured in major tournaments, including as part of South Africa's T20 World Cup squads, blending domestic dominance with international contributions. His first-class record boasts over 8000 runs with 16 hundreds, underscoring his all-format reliability.
