Tony de Zorzi

Tony de Zorzi is a South African cricketer born on August 28, 1997, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a left-handed top-order batter and right-arm offbreak bowler known for his aggressive stroke play and calm demeanor on the field. Tony started his cricketing journey through the South African youth system, captaining the South Africa Under-19 team during the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup. He made his first-class debut in 2016 and gradually rose through domestic ranks, playing for teams like Northerns, Titans, and Western Province, and featuring in prominent T20 leagues including the Mzansi Super League and SA20.

De Zorzi made his international debut for South Africa in early 2023, earning a place in both the Test and ODI squads. He impressed with a maiden international century, an unbeaten 119 in an ODI against India, contributing significantly to South Africa’s series win. In Tests, he made his debut against the West Indies and scored a century against Bangladesh in October 2024, solidifying his place in the national team. Tony also captained South Africa A and continues to be a promising talent with his composed batting and useful off-spin bowling, seen as a crucial part of South Africa's cricketing future.
