Devdutt Babunu Padikkal, born on July 7, 2000, in Edapal, Kerala, is an Indian left-handed opening batsman renowned for his stylish stroke play and consistent run-scoring ability. Starting his cricket career with Karnataka in domestic competitions, Padikkal quickly made a mark with his elegant batting, highlighted by a standout performance in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy where he was the leading run-scorer with 609 runs. He made his IPL debut in 2020 representing Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he impressed by scoring 473 runs in 15 matches and winning the Emerging Player Award. Known for his ability to play both aggressive and anchor roles, Padikkal has accumulated over 1,800 runs in the IPL with a strike rate over 120, including a century and multiple half-centuries.
