Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj, born on March 13, 1994, in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is a right-arm fast bowler renowned for his pace, accuracy, and ability to bowl under pressure. Coming from a humble background, Siraj's journey to international cricket is a story of perseverance, starting his cricket career playing tennis ball cricket and gradually progressing through the ranks without formal coaching. He made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy and soon became the team's leading wicket-taker. His impressive domestic performances, including topping the wicket tallies in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy, earned him a place in the Indian squad.

Siraj made his T20 International debut in November 2017 against New Zealand and his ODI debut in January 2019 against Australia. However, it was during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia that he announced himself on the big stage, taking 13 Test wickets in his debut series, the most by any Indian in that series. His 6/21 in the 2023 Asia Cup final was critical in restricting Sri Lanka, and he played a key role in the 2023 ODI World Cup, taking 14 wickets to help India reach the final. Known for his toe-crushing yorkers and fiery spells, Siraj was bought by Gujarat Titans in the 2025 IPL auction and continues to be a vital strike bowler for India across formats, consistently delivering impactful performances.
