Brydon Carse

Brydon Alexander Carse, born on July 31, 1995, in South Africa, is an English cricketer who plays as a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batter for Durham and England. The son of former Zimbabwean cricketer James Carse, Brydon is known for his raw pace, regularly clocking speeds of 91 mph (146 kph). He made his international debut for England in July 2021 and has since represented the team across all formats.

Carse began his domestic career with Durham in 2016, taking 17 wickets in his debut County Championship season. Despite injuries sidelining him in 2018, he returned strongly and made his List A debut in 2019. He also played for the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred. Internationally, Carse made an immediate impact. In his third ODI against Pakistan in 2021, he took a maiden five-wicket haul. He debuted in T20Is against New Zealand in August 2023, earning Player of the Match with figures of 3/23. In October 2024, he made his Test debut against Pakistan, taking four wickets in the match.

Carse's career faced a setback in May 2024 when he received a 16-month ban (13 months suspended) for breaching ECB betting regulations between 2017 and 2019. Despite this, he remains a key player for England with his ability to deliver impactful performances across formats.
