Charith Asalanka

Charith Asalanka is a left-handed middle-order batter and part-time off-spinner from Sri Lanka, renowned for his aggressive stroke play and composure under pressure in T20 cricket. Since his T20I debut in July 2021, he has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka, amassing over 1,200 runs in 58 matches at an average of 24.45, including six half-centuries. His standout performance came during the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he scored 231 runs in six matches at an average of 46.20, finishing as Sri Lanka's top scorer and the fifth-highest overall in the tournament.

In May 2025, Asalanka was signed by the Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Corbin Bosch at a reserve price of INR 75 lakhs, ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs. This marks his first stint in the IPL, bringing his international experience and leadership qualities to the franchise.
