Dasun Shanaka

Dasun Shanaka, a right-handed all-rounder from Negombo, Sri Lanka, has been a pivotal figure in Sri Lanka's T20I setup since his debut in 2015. Known for his aggressive lower-order batting and steady medium-pace bowling, Shanaka has played over 100 T20Is, amassing more than 1,450 runs and taking 20 wickets. He captained Sri Lanka in 48 T20Is, the most by any player for the nation, and led them to a remarkable Asia Cup victory in 2022. Despite stepping down from captaincy in late 2024, Shanaka remains a vital asset, contributing both with the bat and ball, and is recognized for his ability to change the game's momentum.

​In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Shanaka joined the Gujarat Titans in 2023, playing three matches that season. In 2025, he was re-signed by the Titans as a replacement for the injured Glenn Phillips. While his opportunities in the IPL have been limited, Shanaka's international experience and all-round capabilities make him a valuable squad member, especially in high-pressure situations.
