Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis, born on 29 April 2003, is a South African cricketer known for his explosive batting style. He represents the Titans in South African domestic cricket and has featured in various T20 franchises owned by Mumbai Indians across the globe. Brevis, a right-handed batsman who occasionally bowls leg spin, earned the nickname 'Baby AB' for his playing resemblance to AB de Villiers, though he's expressed some discomfort with the moniker.

In November 2021, Brevis was selected for South Africa's squad in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. He had a stellar performance, scoring two centuries and three fifties, and was named the Player of the Tournament, setting a new record by amassing 506 runs.

His domestic cricket journey began when he signed with Northerns in April 2021. Brevis made his Twenty20 debut in October 2021 for South Africa Under-19s, followed by his List A debut in December 2022 and his first-class debut in February 2023 for the Titans.

Brevis made headlines with his remarkable T20 performances, holding the record for the highest T20 score in South Africa and achieving the world record fastest T20 150. His explosive innings of 162 runs off just 57 balls for the Titans against the Knights in October 2022 showcased his batting prowess.

In franchise cricket, Brevis was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 IPL auction and retained for the 2023 season. He also featured for various teams in leagues like CPL, SA20, Lanka Premier League, and MLC, displaying his versatility and adaptability across different formats and conditions.
