Jacob Bethell

Jacob Graham Bethell, born on October 23, 2003, in Barbados, is an English cricketer who plays as a left-handed batting all-rounder and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. He represents Warwickshire in domestic cricket and the England national team across formats. Bethell moved to England at the age of 12 and quickly rose through the ranks, earning recognition for his explosive batting and useful spin bowling.

Bethell gained prominence during the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he scored a match-winning 88 off 42 balls in the quarterfinal against South Africa. He made his senior T20I debut for England on September 11, 2024, against Australia and announced himself with a 'match-winning' 44 off 24 balls in the second game of the series. On November 9, 2024, he became the youngest Englishman to score a T20I fifty (58*), achieving this feat in his birthplace of Barbados.

Bethell made his Test debut on November 28, 2024, against New Zealand, scoring an unbeaten 50 off just 37 balls—the joint second-fastest debut half-century by an English batter. His domestic achievements include playing for Warwickshire and stints with various franchise teams such as Birmingham Phoenix, Melbourne Renegades, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
