Mohit Sharma

Mohit Mahipal Sharma, born on 18 September 1988, is an Indian international cricketer known for his role as a right-arm fast bowler. Apart from representing India, he also plays for Haryana in domestic cricket.

Sharma gained attention during the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy when he picked up 37 wickets from 7 games at an average of 23. This performance earned him a contract with the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings for the 2013 season. He made an impressive debut in the Indian Premier League, playing 15 matches and taking 23 wickets.

In the 2019 IPL auction, Sharma was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for 5 crores. Despite being released by the team ahead of the 2020 IPL auction, he found a spot with the Delhi Capitals for the 2020 season. He continued to contribute to various IPL teams and in March 2022, he was roped in by the Gujarat Titans as a net bowler for the IPL 2022 season.

During the IPL 2023 Auction, Sharma was once again bought by the Gujarat Titans. He made a remarkable comeback during the IPL 2023 season, taking 27 wickets, which tied him for the second-highest wicket-taker in the season.

Sharma made his international debut for India in the 4th ODI against Zimbabwe during India's tour of Zimbabwe. He bowled an economical spell of 2/26 in 10 overs and took his first wicket in his fourth over by dismissing Zimbabwe opening batsman Sikandar Raza. Sharma's impressive performance earned him the man of the match award on his ODI debut, making him the second Indian after Sandeep Patil to achieve this feat.
